When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by creative, open-hearted people, each sharing their unique light. Together, we gather in love, honoring the Divine within ourselves and one another as we remember our oneness and our shared journey of awakening.
You may hear us speak of God, Jesus, Buddha, the Vedas, the Divine, Source, Love and Light, the Universe, or other sacred names for spiritual connection. All paths are honored here. It all belongs.
CELEBRATION SERVICE ORDER:
People gather 10-10:30am
10:25am prelude
10:30am welcome, most often by Stevie Lang, and opening song played live, coordinated, and often performed, by Deb Jennings
10:35am-10:50am announcements, celebrations, Statement of faith, Unity affirmation, Prayer requests, Meditation
10:50am-11:20am second song, daily word reading and speaker (speakers are different each week, check the newsletter for details)
11:20-11:30am offeratory with live music, universal greeting of peace, closing song holding hands (optional) in a circle, benediction
11:30-12:30pm community socializing with snacks, healing hands/reiki exchange (opitional)
Statement of Faith:
There is only one power active in my life and in the universe. The divine source of all life and love.
Unity affirmation:
Unity of Des Moines is a radiating center of divine light. Mighty to attract its good and radiate good to others.
Offeratory blessing:
I am infinitely abundant! Divine love, through me, blesses and multiplies all that I am, all that I have, all that I give, and all that I receive. I thankfully acknowledge the divine source.
Universal Greeting of Peace from the Ghandi Foundation:
I offer you peace (hands up)
I offer you friendship. (holding hands in front)
I see your beauty. (wipe hands across eyes)
I hear your needs. (hands behind ears)
I feel your feelings. (cross hands over heart)
My wisdom flows from the highest Source. (lifted hand to palm)
I salute that Source in you. (prayer hands and slight bow)
Let us work together for unity and love. (holding hands in front)
