Ambassador Kenneth M. Quinn, President of the World Food Prize Foundation, will address hikers at 1:30pm. As this will be Amb. Quinn’s last year before he retires later this year, we are very much looking forward to him joining us once again.

Furthermore, we are exited to announce that this year's keynote speaker is Rev. Sarah Trone Garriott, Coordinator of Interfaith Engagement for DMARC, who will also speak before we begin walking.

Mark your calendars for the 2019 Des Moines Area Hunger Hike!

Join us on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at 1:30pm at the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates in Downtown Des Moines. 100 Locust St, Des Moines, IA 50309.

Since 1969, Hikers have raised over $1 million dollars to help alleviate hunger in our community and abroad. Donations are distributed among nonprofit agencies and programs that provide food to those in need.

The Hunger Hike serves as a visible witness to the concern around food insecurity, both locally and globally, as hundreds of people of all ages, a coalition of institutions, organizations, denominations, and faiths gather to "walk that more may eat."

Bring your families, bring your pups, and bring your walking shoes! Join us as we take a walk through this beautiful city we love so much, raise awareness, and raise funds to fight food insecurity throughout Des Moines, the state of Iowa, and the world via our partnerships with a variety of area food insecurity organizations.

For more information, visit us at www.desmoineshungerhike.org or on our Facebook page.
